Salary: £12.71 hr
Hours: 0 hours. Working hours will vary depending on operational requirements.
DBS: Enhanced check required

About the Role

We are seeking a friendly Café Assistant to help support the operations of our small café throughout the week. The ideal candidates will be passionate about customer service, have experience in the food and beverage industry, and be committed to furthering the mission of our Community Interest Company (CIC).

Key Responsabilities:

• Use of the till for card and cash transactions

• Support with the production of basic food and beverages following our menu specifications

• Maintain a clean and tidy customer-facing work environment

• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards and Allergy control processes

• Assisting with the daily running of the cafe: Cleaning, stocking up, emptying bins, brushing, mopping, pot washing etc.

• Provide excellent customer service, addressing any issues or complaints promptly and professionally

• Provide support and guidance for our neurodiverse learners and volunteers

Essential:

  • Qualifications and Experience

    • To maintain a high level of food hygiene and food safety

    • Experience of serving and preparing hot and cold drinks, as well as basic food items

    • English and Maths GCSE or equivalent at grade

  • Knowledge and Skills

    • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective member of the team

    • Good organisational skills

    • Professional customer attitude

Desirable:

  • Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2)

  • Experience of people with learning disabilities
