Salary: £12.71 hr
Hours: 16 hours. Working hours will vary depending on operational requirements.

Based in The Proud Trust’s home The Proud Place, the Café Assistant will be pivotal in driving forward both organisations' approach to inclusion and accessibility with clear demonstration and appreciation for LGBTQ+ and Neurodiverse centred approaches. We are seeking a friendly Café Assistant to support the daily operations of our small café.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use of the till for card and cash transactions

• Support with the production of basic food and beverages following our menu specifications

• Maintain a clean and tidy customer-facing work environment

• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards and Allergy control processes

• Assisting with the daily running of the cafe: Cleaning, stocking up, emptying bins, brushing, mopping, pot washing etc.

• Provide excellent customer service, addressing any issues or complaints promptly and professionally

• Provide support and guidance for our neurodiverse learners and volunteers

Essential:

• Qualifications and Experience

  • To maintain a high level of food hygiene and food safety

  • Experience of serving and preparing hot and cold drinks, as well as basic food items

  • English and Maths GCSE or equivalent at grade

• Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective member of the team

  • Good organisational skills

Desirable:

• Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2)
